The other day I let Kayla pick out her own outfit and this is what she came up with.
Kayla is starting preschool with some friends and they made some cute gingerbread houses for their art project. She had more fun eating the candy than making the house.
It is so fun for me to see Tessa in Kayla's old clothes. They grow out of them so fast and it makes me sad when I only get to see an outfit a couple of times before it gets too small. Kayla and Tessa are the exact same age in these pictures and they are wearing the exact same outfits. So cute!
Okay so I am a complete nerd and I went to the midnight showing of New Moon on Thursday night. I loved it! We thought we would play it safe and show up at the theater at 9:30 to wait in line, but the line was already ridiculously long. The people at the front of the line had been there since noon! I think that was a waste of their time though because we had great seats and we got there 9 1/2 hours later. New Moon is much better than Twilight. I was sad when it was over and I already want to go see it again. Kim, I hope you're not mad that I stole your picture off your blog :)
It has been awhile since I lost posted anything and a lot has happened. We went to Utah for 3 weeks in August for my brother's wedding. We had a blast hanging out with our families. We floated the Provo river and went to the zoo. Kayla has been potty trained for a few months now and that has made my life wonderful! Tessa is getting her first two teeth. She still isn't crawling, but I am very okay with that. Kayla took awhile to crawl and I was so anxious for her to learn, but once she did my whole world changed and I realized how easy I had it when she was stationary. With Tessa I am just appreciating that she will just sit there and be happy to play with her toys in one spot. Brandon is busy with school and only has four more weeks left of the most difficult semester in all the four years of medical school. It has been a tough few months for both of us. I have learned to deal with him not being around, but it is tough watching him work so hard and always be so stressed out. He always makes a little time for his family though even if it is just 30 minutes during dinner time and during that time he stays happy and he never shows us how stressed he is. He stays happy so that we can enjoy our limited family time. He is the best!
Can you tell which baby chick is Tessa and which one is Kayla?
We have had such a fun summer so far! I have been really bad at updating our blog so sorry to the two people that read it. I am just going to list the things that I haven't updated lately as well as post a zillion pictures to document it. To start off, we moved 2 months ago to a new house and we absolutley love it! It is twice the size of our last apartment and cheaper rent. Kayla turned two years old! She is getting so big and so smart and we love her so much. She makes us laugh every single day. I had a birthday as well. Brandon planned a surprise party for me which I had always told him that if he ever did that he would die! It ended up being really fun though and I was glad he did it. Both my family as well as Brandon's family drove out here for a week each and we were able to spend some time with them. We spent some time in Nauvoo when each family was visiting. We feel so lucky to have Nauvoo so close to us. We also got family pictures taken two months ago which I have just been too lazy (or busy) to post.
Kayla on her 2nd birthday. It is also the day we moved to our new house so there are boxes everywhere.
Me on my birthday!
All the friends that showed up for the party. The reason I told Brandon he better never throw me a party was because I always figured no one would show up. We had a great turnout though and I'm so grateful for all the friends that helped Brandon make the day so special.
Kayla and her Aunt Abby when she came to visit. Abby is 3 months older than Kayla and they are best friends.

We were able to go to the Nauvoo Pageant with my family which was wonderful! We were rained on the entire time! They had fun pioneer activities before the pageant started. Jared and Brandon are pulling me and Kayla.

This is the only picture I have with Kayla's real smile. It is so hard to get her to smile for pictures. She always does a fake smile that is pretty, but doesn't really look like her. I'm so happy I finally have one that shows just how beautiful she is!
Here we are on Kayla's blessing day. She was blessed on August 5, 2007. It was fun because she was blessed in the same dress that I was blessed in as a baby that my grandmother made for me.
Kayla 1-2 months
This sideshow begins when Kayla was only a week old. My birthday was exactly a week after Kayla was born and I told everyone that she was the best present I could have gotten!
